DURHAM, N.H. & LONDON - The University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL), an independent provider of broad-based testing and standards conformance services for the networking industry, today announced at the Broadband World Forum extensive support for the ultra-fast broadband standard, G.fast, including an ongoing G.fast Certification Beta Program prior to the official program launch in 2016, a growing G.fast Consortium, one of the first public demonstrations of G.fast interoperability to deliver 4K Ultra HD TV, and an upcoming seventh G.fast plugfest in November.

DURHAM, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--During January 26-30, seven companies implementing chipsets based on the ITU-T’s new G.fast specifications met at the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL) to perform the first interoperability testing of the new technology. The ITU-T’s G.9701 (G.fast) specification was approved this past December, designed to provide broadband connection speeds of up to 1Gbps over a single twisted pair cable, meeting the ever increasing demands of applications in the home and business around the world.
