Bringing its testing and interoperability facilities to bear on the newest Ethernet standard from the IEEE, the University of New Hampshire’s InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL) said it is establishing a consortium for companies trialing 40- and 100-Gbps Ethernet systems. Ratified last month, the new 802.3ba standard specifies two new Ethernet speeds: 40G for computing and networked storage applications and 100G for core networking applications.
