Test Event for the EA PoE Certification Program

Date:
Monday, October 2, 2017 - 9:00am to Friday, October 6, 2017 - 5:00pm

Overview:

The University of New Hampshire InterOperability Lab (UNH-IOL) is hosting a PoE Test Event during the week of October 2-6, 2017. Testing results from this event can be used to apply for the Ethernet Alliance (EA) PoE Certification Program. This event is open to all companies who wish to participate.

The test plan for this event will follow the EA PoE Certification test plan.  Passing products will be eligible for listing on the EA Certified Product Registry. In order to be listed companies must apply to the Program through the EA and agree to the EA PoE Certification Program CMLA. This event is not a traditional plugfest and attendance is not required; simply ship your device for testing and be one of the first devices listed on the Certified Product Registry.  The registration deadline to participate in this event is September 27th.

Pay per test fees are $4,999 / PSE and $2,999 / PD. Current UNH-IOL members in the PoE Testing Service are able to use their member benefits to test at no cost, additional devices will be charged the pay per test fee.

As part of the introduction of the PoE Certification Program, Ethernet Alliance members can get additional savings by paying a single certification application fee that will cover all devices submitted for testing at the event.

If you have any questions regarding this test event please contact Craig Chabot through our Contact Us page or call +1-603-862-2911

Guidelines for Shipping

Member companies shipping equipment to and from the UNH-IOL are required to cover all shipping and customs/duties costs. Failure to do so will require the UNH-IOL to bill the member company for any outstanding shipping and customs/duties charges plus a one hundred dollar ($100 USD) handling fee. We receive/ship using FedEx and UPS. Devices should be delivered to the following address by Friday, September 29th.

Please be aware that:

  • Crates must not exceed the dimensions of our loading dock area, which is 56” wide x 90” high (1.4m x 2.28m). The weight of each crate should not exceed 4,000 pounds (1,814 kg). If a crate shipped to us is larger, we may have to de-crate the equipment in order to bring it into our lab.
  • Our loading dock includes a dock leveler and a liftgate is not required for delivery vehicles. Please note we have an alley dock and it may be difficult for larger trailers, the recommended maximum trailer length is 48'.
